See Don Hershman's art "Code Switching #1" at The De Young Open until Jan 7, 2024, located at 50 Hagiwara Tea Garden Drive, San Francisco.

Following the acclaimed inaugural de Young Open in 2020, the second triennial showcases artists from all nine Bay Area counties. Displayed "salon style", it not only maximizes the artwork exhibited but also supports local artists by letting them sell directly. As before, selected artworks will be added to our permanent collection.

"Code Switching" delves into the necessity of altering one's demeanor to navigate societal scenarios, particularly for marginalized groups. It captures the profound emotional toll of this act.
